For the first time this year, #GoldsmithsFair will host a series of insightful Breakfast Talks by leading figures in jewellery, silver and contemporary design. We will provide two presentations on the fascinating history of hallmarking and the world of fakes and forgeries to complement our fakes and forgeries display in the Assay demonstration room. See details below: Sunday 28 September, 9:30-11am Steve Collins - “Hallmarks... What Are You Looking At?” This talk explores 1,250 years of history and illustrates why hallmarking precious metals remains so important today. Sunday 5 October, 9:30-11am Dr Robert Organ - “Hallmarking, Faking and Forging” The Deputy Warden of the Assay Office, explores the history of fakes and forgeries in silver or jewellery, current hallmarking identification, and methods to detect fake and forged hallmarks. Breakfast talk tickets include continental breakfast and one week entry to the Fair. Spaces are limited per talk so book your tickets today to secure your place. Cost £20.00 per person.
