Exercise of the Week #2: The McGill Curl-Up. This is a great exercise to learn how to properly activate the abdominals, specifically the rectus abdominis, all the while maintaining a proper and natural curvature of the (lumbar) spine. Too many ab exercises place unnecessary and unhealthy loads on the lumbar spine, which can lead to back pain and injury! I have used this exercise a lot to help with my own spine rehab and back pain, along with using it with numerous clients. Had great feedback from week 1, so let me know questions, comments, and concerns for week 2! Any suggestions for future exercise of the week segments are open too! (And sorry for the delay this week - Ive been having some technical difficulties with my camera)
