Experience of An elderly Lady E-MAIL를 하나 받았다. 내용은 성경 말씀을 매일매일 암기하는 프로그램에 참여하라는 글과 함께 어떤 나이많은 분의 간증이다. 그래서 한글로 번역을 해보았다. Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” ---------------------------------------------------------------------- An elderly lady was asleep in her bed one night, when she was awakened by a strange noise from the living room. Cautiously, she walked in and discovered a burglar in the process of stealing the stereo. Overcome with fear, she whispered a desperate prayer, Help me Jesus! The burglar heard her and started towards her. Without a thought she put up her hand and shouted a favorite scripture reference: ACTS 2:38! The burglar immediately froze. The lady dialed 911, and within minutes, police were on the scene, and took the burglar to the police station. As the police were questioning him, one of the detectives said, Im curious, you could have ran and got away, why did you stay frozen in that one spot? The burglar answered, Man, if you knew that old lady was packing an axe and two .38 revolvers, you would not have moved either! On a serious note, theres a tremendous power of having Gods Word in your heart and mind. So dont let age or your memory capacity stop you from memorizing and meditating Gods Word. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 한 할머니는 하룻밤 그녀의 침대에서 잠을 자다가 그녀는 거실에서 들여오는 이상한 소리에 잠에서 깨어났다. 조심스럽게, 그녀는 걸어 들어가서 스테레오를 훔치고 있는 도둑을 발견했다. 그녀는 두려움 이기며, 속사였다(whispered) 필사적인 기도(a desperate prayer)를 예수님, 저를 도와주세요! 그 도둑은 그녀의 기도를 듣고 그녀를 향하기 시작했다. 그녀는 아무 생각 없이, 손을 세워 좋아하는 성구를 인용(reference)하여 소리쳤다: 행2:38! 그 도둑은 즉시 얼어붙었다. 그 여성은 911에 신고했다. 몇 분 만에 경찰이 현장에 도착했고, 그 도둑을 경찰서로 데려갔다. 이 처럼 그 경찰들은 심문했다. 나는 궁금하다, 당신은 달아나 멀리 벗어날 수 있었다. 왜 당신은 그 자리에 얼어붙어 있었느냐? 형사 중 하나가 말했다 그 도둑은 대답했다. 이봐요, 만약 당신도 할머니가 도끼와 38 리볼버들을 포장하여 있는 것으로 알았다면, 당신도 움직이지 못했을 것이요! 하나의 진지한 메모에서, 당신의 심장과 마음에 하나님의 말씀을 소유하는 엄청난 힘이 있다. 따라서 나이나 기억 능력이 당신을 멈추게 하지 말라 하나님의 말씀을 암기하고(memorizing), 명상하는 것으로부터.
