Experimental surgeries...my thoughts are they are worth it even if they dont work! Documentation of successes and failures are much needed in all cases. Shian Nicole has had one experimental procedure in her life...it did not work for her. But that documentation of failed procedure helped the next child and the next. Not a must read for anyone, but an interesting one. If this procedure proves to work, it wouldve given us hope for Shian and some of her management issues. I pray that this surgery helps the next child with Spina Bifida and/or spinal cord injury.
