Express: Striker puts Reds on alert 11th Aug 2014 This story has been reproduced from todays media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club. Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Radamel Falcao after the players father admitted he could end up leaving Monaco this summer. The Colombian has only been in France for one year after joining for £48million from Atletico Madrid, but has been tipped to leave the Ligue 1 side before the transfer window shuts. Real Madrid are believed to be favourites to land his signature, despite Karim Benzema recently penning a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, but that has failed to quash interest from Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers. The Reds made an enquiry for the striker earlier in the week, but were sent packing by the Monaco hierarchy, who are adamant that Falcao will be staying put this summer. City, Chelsea and United have all been interested in the 28-year-old since his Atletico days, and his father Radamel Garcia conceded that his son might yet be on the move to one of the Premier League giants. He said: I cant rule out that my son might leave. But the only thing I can say is that, for now, he has a contract with Monaco.
