Ezekiel 27:1-2 Then this message came to me from the LORD: “Son of man, sing a funeral song for Tyre, that mighty gateway to the sea, the trading center of the world. Ezekiel 26-27 describes the fall of one of the most influential cities of his day. In doing so we are reminded that whatever is built of man is temporary, no matter how beautiful, powerful, or intimidating it may be. Structures can stretch to the sky, kingdoms can encompass 1000’s of miles, rulers may seem invincible, but in light of eternity it all is so temporary. The only truly lasting thing is the kingdom of God. Long after what we know, possess, cherish, and admire is but dust in the ground, our God will still reign. Of His rule there will be no end! It only makes sense to be a part of, and invest our lives in, that which is eternal. Are you?
