As the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work website explains, For 120 careers and counting, Barbie® doll has proved there isnt anything a girl cant conquer or discover or become. There you have it. The day was originally founded in 1993 by Gloria Steinem and the Ms. Foundation for Women as Take Our Daughters to Work Day, to give girls the opportunity to experience the workplace, to give them an educational experience outside the classroom and to help them envision a different kind of future.
