RedX Manipal is the only socio adventure club of Manipal University. RedX, having successfully completed its ten years and now running in its eleventh year, has in each year done something new and fruitful towards the betterment of the underprivileged: whether it be setting up medical camps, setting up libraries, improving the infrastructure of the schools and orphanages under Disha, the annual fundraiser Disha Carnival, or by simply celebrating the important festivals with them. It is divided into two wings Disha-social wing and AdventureX. DISHA • Through Disha, the social wing, we aim to provide underprivileged children with an opportunity for a brighter future. • We do so, by teaching, hosting workshops, raising funds and building infrastructure in schools and orphanages in and around Manipal that need financial help. RED X is the only organization of its kind to be functioning in any under graduate institute of India. The club delves into an array of arenas to help develop personality and character and helps students and teachers alike, to open their eyes to see a world of opportunities. The Red-X family has grown steadily over the years, now making it one of the most popular clubs of the university. And with each passing year, the members have worked with only one aim in mind. Redefining Excellence. This time the present team of RedX brings forth an entirely new concept on a large scale. In association with MIT Sports Club, RedX is organizing a Social Sports Meet on November 1st(Saturday) and 2nd (Sunday),2014 . As Karanataka Rajyotsav day, also known as the Karnataka Day, is on November 1st, 2014 it will be celebrated along with it. DAY 1 (November 1st) The event will start with the hoisting of the Karnataka flag and the Karnataka song sung by the students of the schools and orphanage. The kids would be coming from Sarla Betta , Sagrinole ,Infant Mary and Balniketan. Sports for these small kids will be organized. Faculty team will also play one exhibition match. All clubs of MIT are being brought together to play cricket matches for these kids. Prize ceremony for the kids. DAY 2(November 2nd ) The club teams qualified for the second day will play in this one day tournament and the winner will be decided. The winners will be felicitated. NOTE: Refreshments will be provided to all participants, kids and guests. We are glad to invite the student community to come together for this noble cause. Let’s join hands together and be the reason for someone’s smile. We request all the club heads to suggest 4 names from their club who will be a part of this Social Sports Meet. The first 18 clubs to respond will be considered. Game Structure: 6 teams of 12 participants each will be formed (4 members from one club) Participation certificate will be given to all the participants. Prizes will be given to all the 12 members of the winning team. Logos of all the participating clubs will be publicized. The last date to register for this event is Thursday, 23rd October, 2014.
