FACTS ABOUT EKITI There are some issues about the fiasco in Ekiti State that some people dont know. I am not against Ayo Fayose but the truth must be told. Our people in Ekiti, I thought, were knowldgeable enough to see the debacle their election of Fayose would cause the nation in general and Ekiti State in particular. Ayo Fayose, as at now is still facing two major criminal cases. I. He is facing EFCC fraud and embezzlement charge as it related to d poultry farm he did while in power. No case is still in court. ii. He is facing a murder case involving the killing of a gubernatorial candidate, Daramola. His murder was traced to Fayoses killer squad. The case is still in court. So, when the 2014 Ekiti election came, PDP, decided on Fayose because of his antecedent. A group of Ekiti people tagged E-11 went to court to challenge his nomination. As the case was on going, courts in Nigeria went on strike stalling the case before the election. Ok, he won. When the strike was called off, the case then resumed. Election petition is part of electoral process. An Election completes when all cases are dispensed off from the court. When Oshiomole won the second term, d PDP candidates, a retired military officer went to court to challenge the eligibility of Oshiomole. The case got to d Supreme Court for Oshio baba to win. Presently, President Jonathan is being challenged by some people that he can not contest in 2015 because he had already taken two oaths of office. The case is still in court. Then, when court wanted to hear Fayoses case, he led thugs to beat up d judges. Definately, he knows he is fighting a lost battle. He is running dangerously to run under the cover of immunity. The NJC asked Ekiti courts to open so that justice can be delivered but the FG has ordered all courts closed till Thur when Fayose will have been sworn in. This action of Fayose and PDP led govt should be condemned. It is pervertion of justice. If Fayose is truly clean, he should allow justice to prevail. If aggrieved, he can go to Appeal Court or Supreme Court. This is not the case of PDP or APC, it is of justice. Chairman Mao Tse Tung of China said, In shallow men the fish of small thoughts cause much commotion, in magnanimous oceanic minds the whales of inspiration cause hardly a ruffle.
