FACULTY MEMBERS RECEIVE FULLERTON TEACHING AWARDS: Five members of the Limestone College faculty received Fullerton Foundation Excellence in Teaching Awards at the Academic Awards Banquet held in April. The recipients were Dr. Cindy Cavanaugh, Professor Mary Beth Hyatt, Dr. Keith Keppley, Dr. Randy Nichols, and Professor Jerry Wright. Each merit award winner received a cash stipend provided by the Fullerton Foundation. Criteria for the award include effectiveness in teaching; scholarly activities (research, publishing, papers for professional meetings, etc.); participation in Limestones academic program (committee work, projects, etc.); continuing improvement of personal education; assistance to students; community service; and activities which reflect favorably upon Limestone. Dr. Cavanaugh is an Associate Professor of Physical Education. She received her B.S. degree from Western Illinois University; her M.S. from Utah State University; and her Ed.D from the University of Georgia. Hyatt, an Assistant Professor of Social Work, completed her B.A. in social work at Limestone College and her MSW at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Keppley is an Assistant Professor of Business, who teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs. Dr. Keppley earned his bachelors degree in Mass Communication from Pennsylvania State University, his masters degree in Corporate Communication from Duquesne University, and his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University. Dr. Nichols is Assistant Professor of Communication and serves as Chair of the Department of Professional Communications and Interdisciplinary Studies. Dr. Nichols holds the Doctor of Philosophy in Rhetorics, Communication and Information Design from Clemson University. He earned his M.A. in English Literature from Rutgers University, and received his B.A. in Pastoral Ministries at Southeastern University. Wright is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics who received his A.S. from Bluefield College, his B.S. from East Texas Baptist College, and his M.A. from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
