FAERIES, WIZARDS AND FANTASY TO BE IN DOWNTOWN WALTERBORO! THE 5th ANNUAL DOWNTOWN MYSTERY STROLL WALTERBORO, SC, SEPT. 19, 2013—Salkehatchie Stew’s 2013 Downtown Mystery Stroll kicks-off this year’s mystery with a bit of fairy dust and a host of otherworldly beings in Magical Realms- Through the Waterfall. This year’s Mystery Stroll takes place Friday, Oct. 25 and lasts from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Become a sleuth and help the faerie solve the mystery before time runs out! This year promises a new line of suspects from the world of fantasy, including such otherworldly characters as Miss Virginia Creeper and Mr. Will-of-the Wisp and Dr. Amaranth Weed. The Stroll kicks-off with a short performance followed by instructions for this year’s event. Professional storytelling will take place at the waterfall before the event. In this unique game of intrigue and fun, participants meet various characters search for clues. Participants have the opportunity to meet over twenty local merchants participating in this year’s event as well as relax in downtown eating and drinking establishments. The Stroll concludes with a drawing and reward among those who solved the murder. Everyone has a chance to win! Tickets for this event are available for $5.00 in downtown Walterboro before the event at Old Bank, Trinkets and Treasures, Carolina Closet and Sweet Dreams Sew Seams and Jelli Beans and at the waterfall the night of the event. As part of the Salkehatchie Stew’s initiative to preserve local folklore, visitors are invited to share their stories to be part of an important collection. Anyone who has a ghost story to share, or one that involves the supernatural, are also invited and have the opportunity to be part of a project conducted by USC professor, Maureen Anderson.
