FAKE UGG BOOTS THIS CHRISTMAS? PLEASE SHARE If you have unfortunately received a pair of fake UGG boots this Christmas please note that there is nothing we are able to do to assist you other than sell you a genuine pair. We can tell you if they are counterfeit but will not provide written evidence of this. IMPORTANT: ACT QUICKLY You should report any such purchases to Trading Standards through adviceguide.org.uk/england.htm If they were purchased by card then it should be possible to ask your bank/credit card company to do a chargeback or in the case of purchases by credit card payments for items over £100 make a section 75 Claim against the card company itself. Banks may be somewhat reluctant or unhelpful in this process and will probably ask you to get a letter from an authorised retailer such as ourselves stating that your purchase is not genuine. Regrettably we are unable to do this due to our agreement with the owners of the UGG Australia brand however if you go to the UGG Australia web site you can enter the web address from which you made your purchase and this will indicate whether this is a genuine retailer or not. This should be sufficient proof for the card issuers although you may have to persevere with your complaint because they are not overly anxious to accept your claim as they profit from the original transaction. The important thing is to be politely insistent on your rights. Generally these counterfeiters are already know to the card issuers and one has to ask why these people are given the facility to take card payments in this way when they are clearly cheating their customers.
