FALSE FRIENDS BUT TRUE ENEMIES - Granma used to always say, show mi yu company and I will tell yu who you are.... Which friend or company do you have, that if you never ever heard from them or saw them again, would negatively impact the quality and standard of your life? Normally, the first name you come up with is the person you need to drop. Naturally though, most people I meet want to be successful, no one wants to fail of course. Some come to America and immediately fall into the workforce and start working two, three and even four jobs. Its all about the cat and the dog and the white picket fence. Their slice of the American Dream. Big investments, real estate investments, academic investments but all with the goal of success in mind. Funny thing is that sometimes, the very characteristic that will propel a person to the top, is the same characteristic that will bring them to rcokbottom. I have lived a challenging life and to me, success is not all about money. Its about having the resources and the ability to live the life that you have personally dreamed of. The caveat to that is for you to live your dream you have to be wide awake and there are certain rules that you have to adhere to, whilst you are awake ... that will turn that dream into a reality. Its that ability to choose friends who will accept you as you are and not try to make you into who or what they want you to be. It is about dancing to the beat of your own drum and not following in the foosteps of the masses. It is about being in compliance with your own beliefs and concepts and not trying to render your principles to please others. I strongly belive, and I have lectured this to many a group. A mans success in life is strongly determined by his environment and the company he keeps. Some people compliment you and add to your success and others emanate negative energy and stifle your prowess for success. Those who want to succeed will find a way and those who failed or are in the process of failing always find an excuse. Anyway, its a great start to a Monday morning ..... as Mother Theresa said, If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies.Succeed anyway. HAPPY MONDAY YALL ...!!!
