FANTASTIC NEWS FROM ONE OF OUR COMMERCIAL PARTNERS Penfolds announced as ‘Winery of the Year’ by leading wine authority, James Halliday AM Penfolds has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Winery of the Year’ at the inaugural James Halliday Australian Wine Companion Awards, held in Melbourne on Wednesday. Selected by James Halliday AM, this is the first year Penfolds has received the accolade from Halliday, after he announced Penfolds as “one of the greatest wine companies in the world.” A significant and sought-after accolade, the award for ‘Winery of the Year’ was complemented by the announcement that two Penfolds wines had also received top honours in the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varietal awards. 2008 Grange received the award for best Shiraz, followed by the 2010 Penfolds Bin 169 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, which received 98 points by Halliday and received the award for best Cabernet Sauvignon. With both wines forming part of the striking 2013 Penfolds Icon and Luxury Collection, the award-wins are a true celebration of the commitment and dedication of the Penfolds winemaking and viticulture teams. “The Penfolds winemaking team is delighted to receive the Wine Companion’s Winery of the Year Award.
