FARM TOUR from @shadyoakbutterflyfarm One lab is for Monarch and Queen caterpillars only. The first photo shows one side of the lab. The second photo shows the other side of the lab. The door goes to the mesh habitat lab that we shared earlier. We raise Monarch and Queen caterpillars in adapted plastic totes. Holes are cut into the lid and screens are glued over the holes. We cut milkweed stems and feed each container every single day. We normally raise a couple thousand Monarch to chrysalis each week. Our peak was about 4,600 in one week. We prefer to keep numbers lower simply because to sustain that number, it would be necessary to add additional greenhouses and grow thousands more plants for them.
