FAYEMI DELAYED TRANSITION COMMITTEE IS SUSPICION-PDP The delay - TopicsExpress

FAYEMI DELAYED TRANSITION COMMITTEE IS SUSPICION-PDP The delay in setting up of transition committee by the outgoing government of Governor Kayode Fayemi is becoming a subject of suspicion following the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Partys committee that will work with the government to midwife a successive incoming government of Dr Ayo Fayose. In a statement by the publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Kola Oluwawole in Ado Ekiti, the suspicions became unavoidable because of the nonchalant attitude of the All Progressive Congress government to the constitution of the government side of the committee three weeks after the election where the defeated candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi conceded victory to the PDP. The traditional transition committee, Oluwawole explained is a conventional practice all over the world whenever there is a change of government to afford the incoming government the opportunity to understand what in on ground and know where to take off. He however maintained that the inability of the outgoing government to bring on board its own committee to work with the PDP transition teams is seen as not only a deliberate attempt to frustrate the successful change of Barton but another ploy to perfect some scandalous financial recklessness which would have been flagrantly covered up if the APC government got the second term from the people of Ekiti state. PDP noted that in as much as the constitution of committee should not be a burden on Governor Kayode Fayemi, his inexcusable attempt not to yield to the norms is a national embarrassment and political megalomania. In our bid to adhere strictly with the demand of the government and the dictate of the political development in the state we constituted our own committee immediately the outgoing governor met with the governor-elect when it was agreed that the transition committee should be put in place there and then the following members of our party were named as members of the committee: Chief Diipo Anisulowo, Barrister Owoseni Ajayi, Dr (Mrs) Modupe Alade, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, Mr Wale Akomolafe, Mr Kayode Oso , Mr Biodun Alasoluyi and Mr Alade Sunday Olaseye According to the PDP publicity secretary, despite the agreement of the two parties to facilitate a smooth transitional process, the APC government has not been forthcoming rather its main occupation is how to truncate what God has ordained and explicit wishes of Ekiti people as demonstrated in the vote cast for the governor-elect , Dr Ayo Fayose on the 21st of June 2014. For the avoidance of doubt at this juncture we wish that governor Kayode Fayemi should come up with his own committee or explain to the people of Ekiti state what he is trying to cover up that could have necessitated the suspicious and dishonourable foot-dragging that has been displayed by him since the devastating defeat he suffered in the hand of our party The statement, though stressed the need for cooperation between the outgoing and the incoming governors but in a situation where somebody feels too jittery to express his readiness to exercise the cooperation as demanded by the political tune of the moment, the PDP will go ahead by all other means which are not alien to the law of the land to prepare the governor-elect for the task ahead which has as its cornerstone the synchronised human and physical development of the state. We equally want to say here categorically that we will continue to pursue what we feel is the best for Ekiti state despite all reversing provocative shenanigans being employed by the outgoing APC government led by Dr Kayode Fayemi
