FAYEMI TASKS FAYOSE ON PEACE Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi yesterday called on the governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, to embrace peace. Fayemi made the call while addressing the congregation during a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Ado Ekiti, to mark his four years in office. Governor Fayemi’s administration expires on October 16. The mass was attended by dignitaries including governors of Ogun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and his wife Olufunso; Governor Abiola Ajumobi of Oyo State and his wife Florence; National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, ex-governor of Abia, Ogbonnaya Onu, wife of Osun State governor, Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola and wife of Kwara state governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed. Fayemi said Ekiti State needs prayer and love, adding that his government worked tirelessly in the past four years to ensure that peace reigned in the state. “It has been four years of service to man and humanity and God has been good to us. Jesus gives us strength to serve him in humanity. It is not yet a destination but a continuous journey. I urge those coming behind us to embrace peace and love, because that is what our state deserves. What we want is a government that will build upon our achievements; we do not want the peace we achieved in the past four years to disappear with our exit,” he said ×Daily Trust
