FBGR 2013 ANNIVERSARY INVITATIONAL GAMES The Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) is hosting the FBGR Anniversary Invitational Games scheduled on September 27, 2013 (Friday) at the Universal Bowling Center. The rules, regulations, and format stated herein shall apply at all times. REGISTRATION FEE SR 150/player or SR 600/team GAME FORMAT Open to all bowlers regardless of their nationality and gender, respective classification, and affiliations. OILING PATTERN Kegel Recreational High Street 44’ which will also be used during the Hajj Friendship Games TEAM COMPOSITION There will be five (5) games for each event to be played as follows: Event No. of Players Games Team 4 Games 2 to 5 of 5 games Doubles 2 Games 1 to 4 of 5 games Singles 1 Games 1 to 5 of 5 games Masters 1 (refer to Section 4 - Mechanics) MECHANICS 1. The TEAM EVENT will be played by four (4) bowlers of each team. Five (5) games will be played but ranking will be determined from the total score (scratch plus handicap) from Games 2 to 5. 2. The ranking for the DOUBLES EVENT by the two (2) assigned pairs from the team will be determined from the total score (scratch plus handicap) from Games 1 to 4. 3. The ranking for the SINGLES EVENT played by each player in the team will be determined from the total score (scratch plus handicap) from Games 1 to 5. 4. The MASTER’S EVENT shall be played by the Top 32 from the Singles Event using a knock-out system. The Top 32 will be divided into 3 groups: Group 1 - Rank 1 to Rank 8 Group 2 - Rank 9 to Rank 16 Group 3 - Rank 17 to Rank 32 Round 1 - Group 3 bowlers will play a knock-out game (list of pairing is thereby determined) and the top eight (8) winners shall advance to Round 2. Round 2 - Winners of Round 1 will likewise play a knock-out game against Group 2 bowlers and the top eight (8) who will emerge will advance to Round 3. Round 3 - Winners of Round 2 will play a knock-out game against Group 1 bowlers and the top eight (8) will advance to the Quarter Final round. Quarter Finals - The eight (8) winners from Round 3 will play a knock-out game (see list of pairing) and the top four (4) winners shall advance to the Semi-Final round. Semi Finals - The last four (4) winners in the Quarter Finals will play a knock-out game (list of pairing is thereby determined) and the two (2) winners and two (2) losers shall advance to the Final Round. Finals - The top 2 winners in the Semi Finals will play one (1) game to determine the Champion and the 1st Runner-Up and the two losers in the Semi Finals will also play one (1) game to determine the 2nd and 3rd runner-up, respectively. SCORING SYSTEM 1. All scores will be based on scratch scores (total pinfalls) plus handicap. 2. If and when a tie occurs in any of the events, positional advantage shall be determined by using the least difference between high and low games based on scratch score. SUPPLEMENTARY RULES 1. Lanes 1 to 30 of the Universal Bowling Center (UBC) are intended to be if possible. 2. FBGR oiling standards adopted at UBC will be followed. Oiling request by the bowlers will not be accepted. 3. In the event that the foul lights are not operational, fouls shall be called for when a bowler commits an obvious foul. Players are requested to be vigilant on this matter. 4. Bowlers without any records in the FBGR individual tournaments will use his/her record in other organization(s) with a tournament /league at UBC. If a player has no record at all, he/she shall be classified as Class B player. PRIZES 1. For the Doubles and Singles categories, the Top Three (3) shall be awarded with prizes. 2. For the Teams and Master’s Events, the Top Five (5) shall be awarded with prizes. 3. All prizes are guaranteed. SPORTSMANSHIP AND CONDUCT Bowlers are requested to refrain from using offensive words and behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner and conduct during the games. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES Complaints must be reported by the team captain to the Technical Director which will be brought to the attention of the FBGR Technical Committee. These shall be settled in a sportsmanlike manner for which the decision of the Technical Committee will prevail. The FBGR Organizing Committee reserves the right to settle matters that are not covered in the tournament rules and regulations.
