FEAR LEADS TO GRATITUDE This morning while coming to work got stuck in traffic due to a snake on the main road near Hemu Gadhvi Hall. Vehicles were not moving and people in big crowd simply seeing the snake effortless to solve the traffic. Out of my eager to try to help the snake and the traffic to move on to their respective place I somehow found a stick and a plastic bag from the road side and got the snake in the bag. I always believe that I don’t fear death, but every time the snake bounced at me, I could really feel the death. Legs shivering, face sweated and eyes just witnessing the fearful snake fearing me. I went all the way outside the city to free the snake and stopped at a bridge but dint free him there as the height of the bridge would hurt the snake badly if I throw him down and even two dogs were sleeping there. Moving a little inside from the highways a stopped at a lake. As I opened the knot of the bag at a lake, out of fear the snake fell in the water. I could not see the snake inactive in the water drowning slowly; I threw stones near the snake so that the water push gets him to reach the side of the lake. I was so helpless searching for a some long stick for help and then could find one and tried with it. The snake was almost tired, exhausted and slipped from the stick and drowned in front of my eyes. I still feel the suffering I had gone through as all my efforts had failed. Walking back with tears and pain for being the reason of his death I turned back towards the lake and while the second time I turned I saw the snake had swim out and had saved his life. I whistled as loud as it could reach the sky (divine) and busted into tears. The feeling of divine gratitude was all flowing through me. I still can’t judge who felt more gratitude, the one who was tiring to save a life (me), the one whose life was saved (snake) or none of us but the Savior HIMSELF (The DIVINE). Jai GURUDEV.
