FEARS DEFEATED BY FAITH “ ‘Don’t be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. ” (2 Kings 6:16-17) Sometimes in life, it seems as if the world around us is coming to an end. It is in critical situations like this that we know who is a man of faith. The quality of faith is not measured by our attitude to God when things are good but when times are hard. I mean, when our fate seems to hang in the balance. Instead of magnifying the causes of your fears, you ought to arm yourself with the thoughts of God, His Sovereignty and invisible world. That is faith for you and by faith your fear is defeated and you would see that by might shall no man prevail.
