FENCES DOWN Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman. Galatians 3:28 CEV When you take time and make room to get close to God, you acquire a more inclusive attitude toward other people. You see that God loves everybody and wants you to do the same. Divisions between you and others melt away before the bright and warm glow of God’s universal embrace. A man stood up in church after a terrible hurricane hit his city and talked about his backyard fence. Ferocious winds had blown it into splintered fragments and left him exposed to a neighbor he’d never met. It wasn’t long before they were barbecuing together, a result of taking time and making room for each other. Unity is the birthplace of God’s purpose for you. It is where you feel God’s purpose for you. It is where you feel God’s love in its richness. How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
