FESTIVAL REVIEW: Maggie is back with a vengeance in Dublin and instead of Out, Out, Out it is definitely More, More, More. On the eve of the regressive Clause 28 anti gay vote in 1988 Margaret Thatcher finds herself lost in Soho. This riotous night of comedy begins as it ends with a beguiled and captivated audience controlled by an uncooperative handbag. Following Queen Elizabeth s visit to Ireland this is the perfect retaliation by her main rival with an equally high impact. The obvious knowledge of an Irish audience about British politics also hugely impressed as they are into this plot from the start. Maggie and her two sidekicks ( including Downtons Alfred) rock the New Theatre in a drag panto cabaret tale of low morality and political intrigue in the perfectly coiffed hands of Matt Telford. He is her. Comic timing and characterisation is chillingly perfect. Director Jon Brittain, producer Aine Flanagan and cast glitz, glam and sham a most regressive time in LGBT history into an almost acceptable fantasy whose outcome would have been far more preferable. As always Maggie inspired shouting, roaring and lots of noise but this time it was laughter and standing ovation. You have been warned - this will sell out! Runs until Saturday in the New Theatre 9pm matinee Sat at 4pm
