FIGHT OR FLIGHT: I always hear people saying things like my horse is spooky on stupid little things. Horses do not spook at things they can see, know what they are, things that they can predict what is going to happen or things they have been introduced to properly. When a horse spooks, to the horse, it is valid, it is real, it is unknown and a possible threat, so they go into instinctive survival mode. A horse uses its primitive part of brain to survive. All resources go to reaction, fight or flight. Since speed is their primary defensive mechanism a horse will always go into flight mode when threatened, spooked, surprised or ambushed. Yet most people blame a horse for being a horse when they react. In this video, which is pretty funny, but an excellent demonstration of Fight or Flight mode. These Humans do not stop and think, they do not calmly look at what the problem is, they do not stand around and talk about it intelligently. THEY REACT AND THEY GO INTO FLIGHT mode. No difference than when a horse gets scared. And be aware there is NO real threat, only a feeling or perceived threat that is real to the person, however to use viewing we know there is not threat - that does not make the fear or response any less if it is real or only perceived. I just wish people would stop holding horses to higher standard than the super smart most developed brain people - AKA stupid humans. When watching this video, watch the startle response, the jumping, the inability to open a simple door that they just went in, the strange response to jump in a chair, the screaming, the BLIND running, the total loss of reasoning and thinking - it is all about fear and flight. Notice no one decided to fight the fake rat, they all went into blind flight mode and they would gladly knock someone over, step on someones foot, or knock someone in the head = JUST LIKE A HORSE WOULD DO.
