FIGHTER JHETT UPDATE: Whew, long day.....................Jhett, Jarrod and I left early this morning and traveled the 3 hours to the PWS clinic at Nationwide Childrens Hospital. On our way there, I told Jarrod I wont cry this time. I am prepared. , since I cried hysterically during our first visit in December (when they denied starting Jhett on Growth Hormone). The denial was what prompted the surgery we had in February, and to determine the success of surgery, we had a follow-up sleep study in March. I faxed these results to the PWS nurse on Monday with a call to ask if she could have the team review before our visit today. SO, as we begin to meet with the Clinic Staff, we are informed that the Chief of Endo is not in today, and we would be seeing his partner, Dr. Kamboj. With this news, I felt defeated, and prepared that the decision for growth hormone would be we need to discuss this request with the Chief, but to my surprise..............the team did as requested, and met this week and made the decision to start Jhett on Growth Hormone!!!! And of course...........I cried............AGAIN! Now it is an Insurance game and getting them to approve, which they will, but it can take some time. Jhett was fabulous and in a great mood all day. Even though it was a long day, it is a joyous day!!!
