FIJI is one of the most covered areas in the Pacific region for information access, according to a 2013 report by the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS). In terms of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) access, Fiji rates second highest of all 14 surveyed countries in phone and internet coverage, with 84 per cent mobile penetration and 28 per cent for the internet. These statistics are topped only by Samoa with 91 per cent mobile penetration and Niue with 83 per cent internet access (though Fiji and the Cook Islands have the most significant internet presence overall, relative to population). The mobile market is proving to be one of the fastest growing information areas in the Pacific.
