FINAL (5OT): Picayune 63 - George County 62! If you werent in Lucedale tonight, you missed a dandy! South Mississippi High School football at its finest. Both teams, coaches, fans, bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, color guard, etc., giving it their all and leaving it all on the field! Both teams battled until the end, but the Maroon Tide Defense came up big on the Rebels 2-point attempt that came on their TD pass in the 5th OT to come within an extra point of tying the game. George County elected to try the 2-point conversion for the win but were stopped on Ethan Friersons tackle to end it! These two teams have a history of playing competitive games and tonight was no different. Picayune scored 14 unanswered points in the 2nd half and at the end of regulation, the score was tied at 28-28. Even after losing 2 fumbles on the night, the Maroon Tide regrouped and carried on to finish strong! The Picayune Smiles Play of the Game: Vyron Browns TD reception on 4th down in the 5th OT.
