FINALLY!!! Finally we have a Senate that works and though it’s a shame that we have to celebrate that some part of our elected government works, I will break out the bells, the whistles, the dancing girls, everything. I am sure that I was not the only citizen who was wondering what the purpose of my vote was for if the people who were elected to represent us were serving partisan factions established to de-bowel our democracy and not so subtly, warn us that should we err and elect another President who doesn’t look like the previous 43, then they will be forced to show us how money talks. I mean, they did. These money baggers were able to finance campaigns of alleged patriots who were sent to Congress expressly to cripple our economy by orchestrating government shut downs, nixing the passage of a crucial jobs bills, maim our judicial system by refusing to confirm highly qualified nominees, refuse an up or down vote, or any kind for that matter, on raising the minimum wage, conduct mock filibusters and demonstrate their knowledge of nursery rhymes, disrespect our duly elected President and create a national and international political embarrassments, and just totally screw us, because their plan is to ensure that Americas political policy is skewed to ensure that our democracy remains the current economic fiefdom that it is. Oh and did I mention that their primary raison dêtre is to deny the rest of us the fundamental benefit of health care? Actually, I should not have to mention that because one of the ways feudal lords got rid of their serfs was to deny them basic sustenance and just let them die. But, enough of skewering those politicians who have voted consistently, routinely, slavishly to disserve we, the people, and immobilize our economy. This is Harry’s party and Harry has to be celebrated. Today we saw a real Senate majority leader FINALLY lead. He has removed the chocolate filling and the caramel coating from that favorite Republican desert – the Filibuster. And though it was five years overdue, it couldn’t have made a more timely return. For, we were getting ready to be fed some more Green Eggs and Ham by the party that has sold our well being to the money baggers who fund its politicians. Hurray for Harry!!
