FINALY, FINALY NOW AT HOME! It was 4 hours of hell. Not that - TopicsExpress

FINALY, FINALY NOW AT HOME! It was 4 hours of hell. Not that the bombings took place near you or that it affected some one you know, but then bombed you are all the same. Affected you are in all ramifications. You have just bundled hundreds of students into their examination classes and theaters, just some minutes later the news filtered, bombing at Alkali road, later another creeped in, another bomb very close to Kawo motor park and pandemonium was about to let loose. What do you do, you asked yourself, when suddenly another news gushed out, Unguwar Sarki was another target. You looked around and your Faculty students and staff caged in dilemma. What should be the next line of action? You continued to munch in your freaky mind, different scenarios. And then some one shouted the words out 24 hour curfew, what do we do? You thought only once, it cant be, then little Oga at the the top sauntered in, sounding one kind, Oga at the top just called that we manage the crisis according to the dictates of the times. I sipped in the news, as I tried to cajole my saturated body in to action. First, calm the students in their examination places, assure them of their well being. Tell them not to move out of the campus, unless, they are mobile. From one class to another, to a theatre and on to the other, disrupting what is not supposed to be. You look into their eyes as your rolled out the bad news, there was commotion inside town, but dont panic, buses are there waiting for you with police escort to take you very close to your home. Muslims, Christians, indigenes, non indigenes, and foreigners. You looked at their innocent eyes as they continued to write and looked up to you for further instructions. Pity! Outside, the atmosphere was a semblance of chaoticism, security men and women sentried in search of solutions. Then came down the showers of blessings, the rains, and slowly but steadily the examinations came to an end and the evacuation began. Kakuri Sabon tasha train had made its first journey, Tudun Wada Kasuwar Barci was loading, and you sighed in and start to call on to the security men to look around the Faculty, to make sure an innocent soul was not left behind. You again put in calls to Heads of Departments still in their offices to cross check if we have unaccounted students around somewhere. As you made way to your car, it was another staffer telling you that three female students had a challenge with their car, it could not start, and the bus itinerary was not going to their side, and there is 24 hour curfew. Stupefied once again, the only thing that came to your mind, let them hop in to your car, you drop them on the way. As you meandered with your passengers it dawned on you that all the bombing scenes, are the usual routes to your destination. But home you must reach. How? You dont know..at home you are now...the torment still persist.
