FIRST GRADUATION UNIVERSITY OF LUSAKA Without prejudice, Professor Chifwanakeni put up arguably the best graduation ceremony of any higher institution in Zambia. It was truly Zambia at her best, smart and efficient, formal, great pomp and ceremony. Perfect setting, gorgeous gowns worth every ngwee (not the type we see now sold from campus fences along with groundnuts) Zambia Army brass band and a color brochure and of course the oath and a high table of among Zambias top academicsl led by Dr Fundanga the Chancellor. Significantly was the support of the corporate world present sponsoring prices. Uniquely some including Citibank, FNB, Access bank, National Savings and Credit Bank giving jobs to winners! Eight students I taught first year economics graduated with BSc in Economics and Finance, some had dropped off! One of them got internship from Citibank and starts work on Monday! The ceremony ended with a full luncheon complete with champagne, for all who attended! A perfect Zambian affair.
