FIVE THINGS I HAVE LEARNED IN FIVE YEARS OF BEEN A CHRISTIAN PRT 5 - TopicsExpress

FIVE THINGS I HAVE LEARNED IN FIVE YEARS OF BEEN A CHRISTIAN PRT 5 He has made me a King: who are you? Is one of the most difficult questions to answer. For over two decades, I struggle with that question. I had an identity crisis. I looked around me, I didnt see what I want to become. My father WAS popular and wealthy (in Iseyin) but I didnt want to be like him. I desire something higher, something thats beyond amassing wealth and wives. I want my life to count for something thats not ephemeral. My religion couldnt give me the answer to who am I and I guess it was my quest to finding my Identity that led me to Christ. However, giving my life to Christ did not automatically translated to finding my identity. I had made the frustrating, tragic mistake of trying to find my identity in people. It took me some years to realised that my identity is in Christ. One day as I was reading the Bible, I noticed this statement in 1peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; The Holy Spirit stopped me and asked, who are you I was looking at it right in front of me but I still couldnt say it out because it was too good to be true! As I honestly began to search my heart and to study His Word on the subject, I began to believe that am special to God but the holy spirit was still not satisfy with my answer. One day, He asked me to search the book of revelation to have a revelation of who I am. Now this is a book I have never tried to read because I often heard some Christian say its a scary book to read and understand but in obedience, I opened the book of revelation for the first time and there it was on the first page: And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen Rev 1:6 (KJV) Ironically,I was scared to read further but the Holy Spirit prompted me further and in chapter 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. That was it! My eyes were opened and I realised why they call God the king of kings! I realised that in this kingdom, everyone is a king. If you didnt know that before, now you know. That has been the five major things that I have learned in five glorious years of been a christian. I hope it blessed and encouraged you. My prayers is: the very God of peace shall sanctify us holy and our spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you all for taking time to read and for encouraging me. God bless you all.
