**********************FLASH BACK FRIDAY******************** The day was Monday the 3/12/12 just after 3pm when a large hail storm descended on Tamworth with destructive winds & large hail stones. This storm came without any warnings it wasnt till 3.45pm when a warning was issued . Cars, houses & businesses were extensively damaged with hail the size of golf balls coming in on a 45° angle. Tamworth SES were keep very busy with a number of jobs. Damage around town included roofs blown off,window smashed,street sign bent, shops & businesses flooded,fences blown over,even the new equine centre could escape the damage with its roof being peeled off. Power was cut to over 3000 customers,traffic lights out,right on school knock off time, Tamworth was in total chaos. This is the main reason i started this page to give heads up of thunderstorm events,as i have been a storm chaser for many years i have seen first hand how dangerous they can be.~Dave.
