FLASH FLOOD WARNING until 5am Friday for Jasper & Cherokee Counties, Northern Newton County, Southern Barton County & Southern Crawford County. The National Weather Service says some areas in the watch area have already received 2 to 3.5 inches of rain with another 2 to 3 inches possible overnight. Flooding is occurring or imminent. If you live near a creek or stream, take precautions to protect life and property. Dont drive through standing water. Low water crossings like Main and Murphy Blvd. in Joplin and Highway JJ at Center Creek southeast of Carl Junction are susceptible to flooding.
