Several upper level disturbances will move through the region in the moist southwest flow aloft resulting in several rounds of showers and thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. ...Flash flood watch in effect from 7 am cdt this morning through sunday morning... The national weather service in memphis has issued a * Flash flood watch for portions of east arkansas...Southeast missouri and west tennessee...Including the following areas... In east arkansas...Clay...Greene...Lawrence and randolph. In southeast missouri...Dunklin and pemiscot. In west tennessee... Dyer...Henry...Lake...Obion and weakley. * From 7 am cdt this morning through sunday morning * Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall will overspread the watch area today and persist through saturday night. Storm total rainfall amounts of around 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. * This excessive rainfall may result in flash flooding. Low water crossings may quickly become flooded and road closures from the heavy rains will be possible. Poor drainage areas may also become flooded. A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
