FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE QUAD CITIES IA IL 1230 PM CDT THU JUN 19 2014 ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE... The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a * Flood Warning for the Mississippi River at Rock Island LD15. * Until Further Notice. * At 12:00 PM Thursday the stage was 13.4 feet...and rising. * Flood stage is 15 feet. * No flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * Forecast...Rise above flood stage Saturday night...and continue rising to 16.3 feet Wednesday evening. * Impact...at 16 feet...Water affects sidewalks along the river at Le Claire park. Water also affects Credit Island lane and Molines River Drive in the 4700 block. Very heavy rains across Northern Iowa and the southern Minnesota the past week will cause the Mississippi River to go into flood. At most locations the crest will not arrive for at least another week and this will depend on the amount of rainfall that occurs the next several days with the active wet pattern continuing into next week.
