The Embassy wishes to inform you that the delay in the repatriation of OFW xxxxx is other own making. Please find below the chronology of events that led to the said delay in her repatriation: 1. On 12 December 2012, OFW xxxx ran away from the household of her employer due to lack of food, overwork and poor accommodations. She stayed at the FWRC, a temporary shelter for runaway OFWs maintained by POLO/OWWA-Jordan. 2. On 19 May 2013, the Jordan Ministry of Interior approved the deportation of 67 Filipino household workers, including that of OFW xxxx. Her ticket was provided by the Philippine Government from ATN Funds. 3. On 22 May 2013, OFW xxxx escaped from the FWRC, even while she was very much aware that she was ready for deportation, complete with plane ticket and exit permit stamp. 4. Even while OFW xxxx had left the FWRC, she continued to remain in contact with the Embassy (because we were still holding her ticket) and very well knew that her scheduled departure from Jordan was on 12 December 2013, together with the other Filipino deportes. OFW xxxx did not show up at the airport and was nowhere to be found. She was not able to leave Jordan then. Recently, OFW xxxx again approached the Embassy, requesting to have her repatriation facilitated. We thus inquired from the Jordan immigration authorities if she could still be deported despite the lapse of time after her originally-scheduled deportation. The said office agreed to her deportation but she has to have her airline ticket rebooked. The travel agent is still retrieving her file from the system since several months have already lapsed since December 2013.
