FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Ephesians 4:1-6; As a prisoner for the Lord, then i urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one Body and one Spirit- just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all in all. Lets think deeply about these few verses. I would like to believe that God will give us guidance and more insight into His Word, His will, His opinion or perspective on the subject matter. What is God saying to us, His Church, through His Scriptures? Its simple. He is saying that we must maintain UNITY in the Body of Christ. This is done by being humble hearted, gentle, patient, bearing with one another in love, going beyond our denominational barriers in a bid to attain unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace, living a life of holiness, always following His will for His Church and not our own personal or denominational church will, etc. John 4:35-36 says, Do not say, 4 months more and then the harvest? I tell you open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Now is Gods right time or moment to win souls in large numbers for His kingdom. To be able to win many souls, and grow saints to maturity, we need to be united. We need to set aside doctrinal differences and find common ground where we can work together for the purpose of winning souls for His kingdom and growing them to maturity for the glory of God. Psalm 133:1,3 says, How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forevermore. At what position does the Lord commands a blessing? The answer is: Where there is unity. When His children live together in unity, He blesses them. When they are divided, He WITHHOLDS His blessing. This is the reason why in most of our church families we struggle with soul winning. Its a struggle for the church family to win just one soul. Why? Because Christ is not divided. (1 Corinthians 1:13). God has given us gifts, talents, abilities, ministries. We need to use them in our church families and soul winning will become as easy as breathing. Miraculous signs and wonders will become a common thing in our church families. Finances will become as common as stones in the Body of Christ. All the resources that we need to win souls have been given to us. All we need to do is identify them through intensive prayer and all will be well with His church. God blessed the early church with 3000-5000 souls in one day and many were being added daily. ( Acts 2:41, Acts 4:4). Why? What was their secret? Because they were united, they were in one heart and mind; they were living a life of holiness, were humble hearted, brought their wealth to the apostles for evangelism, discipleship and compassionate ministry; they loved one another, they broke bread together, obeyed Gods Word, were devoted to prayer and the ministry of the Word; Jesus Christ was the hub, He was at the centre of everything that they did, etc, (Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-36). Brother or sister, man of God or woman of God, God can do the same in our church families, ministries, etc, ONLY if we are united in the Spirit and there is a bond of peace between us. He can enable us to have the same kind of experience that the early church had. Lets set aside our doctrinal differences and work hard towards maintaining unity in the Body of Christ. Together we will make it. In Christianity, the key is, NOT MY WILL LORD, BUT YOURS BE DONE. Lets find common ground where we can work together and win souls and grow them. Lets open up our church families so that the gifts of the Holy Spirit will operate freely. Lets live a life of humility, holiness and love for one another. Lets not judge one another. We were not called to judge or condemn. We were called to reconcile people back to their Creator. (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). Lets just do that and leave the judging to Jesus Christ, the righteous judge. At His appointed time He will judge righteously. Lets refrain from building our own liitle kingdoms here on earth. Lets build His kingdom. This meditation is for the glory of God. Remain blessed.
