FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GULFPORT LEADERS SAY “YES!” TO KENT CURTIS FOR PINELLAS COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD (ST. PETE, FL) – In a political trifecta, Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson and Commissioners Yolanda Roman and Michael Fridovich have each endorsed Professor Kent Curtis’s run for Pinellas County School Board, with enthusiastic support. “Quality education attracts new businesses to Pinellas County and prepares our children to be competitive in a global economy,” said Mayor Henderson. “Kent Curtis has the experience and platform that will take a serious look at ways to prepare our next generation for livable wage jobs.” “I am impressed with Kent’s rich understanding of the issues that face Pinellas County Schools and the fact that he’s already actively involved in the most challenging of them,” Council member Roman added. “He is a change agent with the passion and intelligence to get things done.” “Kent has a track record of commitment to our community and to our schools, Council member Fridovich agreed. His experience as an educator and a parent provides him with the kind of insight and vision we need on our county school board. We need school board members focused on education and believing in every child. Kent would be that kind of board member. He has my support; he deserves yours, too. Kent’s platform focuses on providing an appropriate and quality education for every child in the district by enhancing efforts to provide career and technical training, developing policies to celebrate teachers and teaching, and creating policies to effectively collaborate with all parents.
