FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Obstacle Course Racing Association UK is DELIGHTED to announce yet another SMASHING victory for the UK OCR Community! First it was the Spartan World Champs, where the ‘unknown UK athlete’ sped into first place, not only claiming the first place podium position but he OWNED it. Often referred to as an unknown in the American OCR community, Jonathan Albon has beasted the OCR scene, taking 1st position repeatedly and becoming an idol and inspiration not only to the community members but to the younger generation who look up to him as role model. Today saw the world’s first independent world championships for Obstacle Course Racing take place in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, a major step for our community in the validation of our sport and who would be more fitting a victor than our very own Jonathan Albon! We no doubt speak on behalf of all of the community when we say we congratulate Mr Albon on bringing this victory to British soil! It is a proud day indeed as not only did a British athlete grace the first place position but our very own Pocket Rocket Lucy Martlew smashed the 12th ladies position against some stiff competition! Having only embarked on her OCR journey last year, she has well and truly earned her title as ‘The Pocket Rocket’! She has steamrolled ahead and with her sheer grit, determination and brutal training she has become a beacon of light for the ladies in OCR!
