FOR THOSE WILLING TO READ the word and learn from it! Be Blessed! Therefore, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, harp, zither, lute and the rest of the musical instruments, all the peoples, nations and languages fell down and worshipped the gold statue that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Daniel 3:7 Music. Beautiful music created and at the same time, music that struck fear in the hearts of the people, where upon hearing it they worshipped the gold statue at Dura which means dwelling, in the land of Babylon which means Confusion. Go figure!!! This image was set up in a DWELLING OF CONFUSION!!!l Soon, hearing the music would more than likely prove to be soothing to many who would simply fall and worship the 90 foot high, 9 feet wide gold statue. The command, although attached to it a serious consequence of certain death by fire, had everyone worshipping. Worship is a beautiful thing and surely, a religion was born here. But a false one at that, made by man. If everyone else was doing it, why not follow suit? It must be ok, it must be good. There was a condemnation for those who did not do as commanded but the glory in worship stopped the condemnation. So hence, the people united in confused worship of what they did not know. A new fear was created in an inanimate object created by a heartless king. BUT, there was three men who would NOT bow down and worship this image! The king summoned these men and asked, if you do not worship the image I made, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”. The answer came back - “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” The king, clearly enraged ordered that this fiery furnace be turned up 7 times hotter for these men of God to be thrown in. So hot that the flames killed those who took these men to be tossed in. So while completely fully clothed, into the fire they were tossed. WoW! What a surprise to the King when he looked down into the fire and saw a FOURTH individual in the fire! He exclaimed, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (or sons of gods or angel). Some say it was Michael the Archangel. Some say it was Gabriel. Others say it was simply an angel of the Lord. Others yet say it was Christ himself, but let us leave this speculation out of the equation in this particular moment and move forward with what was going on. These men had no fear and clearly desired the will of God to prevail, no matter the outcome. Another way it could be worded: if the Lord decides to consume us so be it, but if he decides to save us through the fire, our God will still be with us. His will be done.. These men recognised the true GLORY which far exceeds the glory of the image which had condemnation attached to it and earthly inflicted evil fear. Now, having said this, we do know that the scriptures states another condemnation with glory that was good and another glory that was exceedingly greater! But this was from GOD! Lets take a peak: But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. (2nd Cor 3:7-11) Looks like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego had a advance look within the spirit to the EXCEEDINGLY GREATER GLORY!!!!!! Beloved, the story goes on in Daniel Chapter 3. Here is some additional things we learn from this. 1. These men had ZERO COMPROMISE! 2. These men had ZERO FEAR of mans decrees! 3. These men recognised the WILL OF GOD! 4. These men TRUSTED GOD no matter what! 5. These men were STEADFAST! 6. These men, although sent through the fire, were UNSCATHED by this enemy! 7. These men were PROTECTED by the LORD! 8. These men WITNESSED to the King in powerful truth! 9. These men, although already FREE because of the LORD, were set free by the King! 10. These men were BLESSED! 11. These men caused the king to say, BLESSED by the God of Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego. 12. These men frustrated the word of the King! 13. These men were PROMOTED by the King! 14. These men were DELIVERED! 15. These men were OBEDIENT! Beloved, surely we can get more out of this! GLORY be to the Most High God! When we walk with the Risen Only Son of God, Christ Yeshua (Jesus), we should have zero compromise in our walk, zero fear of man but rather a healthy fear of God which says, Lord, I do not want to disappoint you. We should recognise the will of God for our lives and obediently walk it out! We should be steadfast in our faith! We should trust God! We should acknowledge His will be done! When we walk with the Lord, we are forgiven, we are protected, we are delivered, we are free, we are BLESSED!!! Let us promote the gospel! Let us witness the glory of the resurrection! We do NOT need to DWELL in CONFUSION!!! Rather we dwell in Gods everlasting love through Christ who is the WAY, The TRUTH and the LIFE! And when we DWELL in the Spirit of Gods LOVE, the MUSIC no longer has unhealthy fear attached to it but complete, total GLORY, PRAISE and HONOUR! So sing a new song unto the LORD of His amazing GRACE, His astounding Mercy!!!!! Be Blessed Beloved! In His Love and Service, Jody Midgley
