FOREVER HOME NEEDED LADY Female, 3 yr, 62 lbs What the foster home had to say: Lady has made herself right at home here tonight. Has a full belly, lots of fresh water, and has given me tons of kisses and is currently sitting on my bed watching me type this. I am happy to say Lady seems to be doing well here and is fitting in with my dog. I am taking time to introduce her to my roommates small dogs. I don’t want to set her up for failure. She is not liking this snow, but with some coaxing she will go outside only long enough to do her business then she wants back inside. I wasn’t expecting to fall for her so fast. I did buy her a coat to wear while we have this snow. Tomorrow I will be testing her with the small dogs. She is very friendly with people, and as I said my dog. I am hoping she responds well with the little dogs. Following is a B.A.R.C (Behavior Assessment and Reactivity Checklist) assessment done by the shelter staff. This checklist was created by Robert Cabral to fairly assess shelter dogs. You can visit his website at boundangels.org What the shelter has to say: Lady approaches the kennel in a friendly manner. She gives up her toys easily and has an overall playful attitude. When touched she softens with petting and engages the tester. When offered food she is friendly. When correction was needed she is slow to correct but follows correction. She remains neutral when we did the dominance testing. She did not interfere when another dog was eating hear her. When introduced to other dogs she is cautious but does not growl.
