Boot Camps are an outdoor (with an indoor option) alternate exercise form free from the structured setting of traditional gyms. Each of the Camps noted above feature a curricula that is skill-set specific and age appropriate. Urban Crazy Fitness has been facilitating group fitness boot camps in Anderson for five years effective this coming January. We do much more than simply run. BOOT CAMPS COMBINE: Cardio/Pulmonary Conditioning, Core Strength Exercises, Plyometric Drills, Resistance Training –Body Weight, Dumbbells, Medicine Balls Toning Movements Agility Drills, Sprinting and Running Drills SATURDAY MORNING CAMP DESCRIPTIONS 7am Saturday Morning Camp The curricula for this camp were designed for our most athletic clientele. Campers move rapidly from one exercise movement to the next and in many cases from upright movements to ground movements then back up again. 99% of the camp is performed on hard surfaces switching from cardio-based movements to resistance-based movements again in rapid fashion. The format of each camp begins with a warmup segment followed by core, (lower back, upper abdominal, lower abdominal and side oblique), then into a sustained cardio segment and finally back into an interval cardio segment. This curriculum was being implemented by UCF long before exercise programs such as “Insanity” ever hit the fitness marketplace. The specific movements we implement are directly related to the location we are training at that specific day. 8am Saturday Morning Camp The curricula for this camp were designed for our mainstream clientele. Campers move from one exercise movement to the next and in many cases from upright movements to ground movements then back up again though less frequently than our 7am Camp. 99% of the camp is performed on hard surfaces switching from cardio-based movements to resistance-based movements. This Camp is a very family friendly program with husbands and wives working out side by side. Provided they participate fully in the curricula, our Campers kids are also welcome to attend. Again they must be participants rather than a distraction. We have several campers who attend on a very regular basis who leave their spouses or significant others at home and use their time at Camp as “ME” time. 9am Saturday Morning Camp The curricula for this camp were designed for our clientele age 50 and over or for those with physical limitations. Campers move from one exercise movement to the next in well-defined blocks from upright movements to ground movements. 99% of the camp is performed on hard surfaces though we are careful not to compromise ones joints and/or infrastructure. The format of each camp begins with a warmup segment including stretching followed by core, (lower back, upper abdominal, lower abdominal and side oblique), then into cardio, balance and agility segment. The specific movements we implement are directly related to the location we are training at that specific day. 10am Saturday Morning Youth Camp The curricula for this camp were designed for our clientele ages 10-12. Campers move from one exercise movement to the next in well-defined blocks from upright movements to ground movements. The format of each camp begins with a warmup segment followed by core, (lower back, upper abdominal, lower abdominal and side oblique), then into cardio, balance and agility segment. The movements we implement during our cardio segment are more intervals based than sustained. We end each session with a cardio-kickboxing block designed for conditioning rather than self-defense. The specific movements we implement are directly related to the location we are training at that specific day. Our typical Camper will be from the ages of 10-12 and may have limited opportunities throughout the week to participate in physical activities. This is not a boot camp to correct behavioral problems. The kids are there because they want to attend and have fun exercising. WHERE ARE SATURDAY MORNING BOOT CAMPS HELD? It varies week to week though our select locations include Anderson Beach, The Civic Center, McCants Middle School, Lindley Park, The Balloon Park, Old McCants, and The Courthouse in Downtown Anderson next to J. Peters POOR WEATHER PROTOCOL (RAIN) As you may already know, UCF Boot Camps train even when it is raining. We do so by meeting at the indoor parking garage; second level. The indoor parking garage is located on Whitner and Murray. Notification of this location change will be posted on Urban Crazy Fitness’s Facebook page the night before morning camp. (WIND/COLD WEATHER) In the event wind combined with cold weather makes training outside impractical, we systematically move that days Boot Camp indoors to a facility located at 403 South Jefferson St.. Notification of this location change will be posted on Urban Crazy Fitness’s Facebook page the night before morning camp. Missed snow/ice days will be added to the end of each camp cycle.
