FOX hits a two-fer! They get to criticize Obamacare AND unions at once! But, at the same time, a little research reveals the tentacles of the Koch brothers in the whole thing, tentacles which reach all over the nation and deep into the conservative movement. The story is that an activist group in Texas, Southern United Neighborhoods, and United Labor Unions local 100 may have bilked the taxpayers out of $1.3 million signing up Obamacare customers. This possible fraud was revealed by a group called Cause of Action, which styles itself as non-profit government accountability watchdog. Nothing has been proven yet, its just an allegation, but FOX is pushing the story anyhow. (link at the bottom) So, who is Cause of Action? Theyve been called the most active non-profit you never heard of, which focuses on government overreach and excessive regulation. Its headed by a guy named Dan Epstein, an alumnus of a Koch brothers program. They receive funding from the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. Among other activities, the Franklin Center funds reporters who cover state government. Major news organizations have been quietly dropping coverage of state politics and issues and the Franklin Center has stepped in to fill that void with political hacks delivering right-wing political propaganda. Where does the Franklin Center get its money? Chiefly from the Lynne and Harry Bradley Foundation, a Wisconsin based money machine with ties to Scott Walker, Paul Ryan and Reince Preibus. Harry Bradley was one of the founding members of the John Birch Society, along with Fred Koch. According to a Milwaukee Sentinel investigation in 2001, the Bradley Fund spent $234 million over 10 years funding conservative causes like The Charter Schools Growth Fund, the Heritage Foundation and the David Horowitz Freedom Center. They also help fund ALEC. 10 minutes of research reveals one more example of the byzantine web of inter-connected and over-lapping right wing money machine groups. Filtered through layer upon layer of think tanks, foundations and 501(c) interest groups, the Koch brothers and their fellow travelers can hide what theyre doing, where theyre doing it and how much money theyre spending to subvert our government at every level. They pay for the candidates, create the issues, fund friendly reporters and rely on FOX and an equally organized right wing media presence to spread it all to conservative voters. Its a brilliantly crafted, highly organized and adeptly managed propaganda machine which has fooled millions upon millions of voters into supporting Republican candidates and causes who are beholden not to The People, but to those who put them into power. Their goal is nothing less than the complete transformation of America into a corporate oligarchy where all the power and decision making is controlled from behind the scenes and fronted by the GOP. Its incredible, but true. Will you remember this when you vote in November, or will you continue to be conned and manipulated?
