FOXY & ME (Part 4) I rushed home from the Holiday Inn after - TopicsExpress

FOXY & ME (Part 4) I rushed home from the Holiday Inn after finishing up another Friday nite shift. As always, Foxy Lady Girl greeted me at the door with her pig curled tail flipping from 1 side to the other while short quick puffs of air sprayed out of her nose comparable to mini sneezes. After greeting her with pats atop her head & scratches to her cheeks, I went straight to the back door to let her out. As always I walked her thru the gate & down the steps to her lead. I hooked her up & ran in the house to do a little business of my own. It was a damp misty April night & what I didnt notice was some grit was lodged in her latch causing it not to close all the way. What a perfect ending to a long day. I had a search & rescue routine at this point. I ran across to the walking path to see if she was slowed up by the smells emanating from the bushes lining the vet hospital behind my house. No dog. So it was off to my car with a flashlight in hand to see if I could work my way back to find her. I drove my loop on the opposite side of the development & returned back to where I lived with no luck. As I slowly drove by my house I noticed someone waving me down from across the street. It was my neighbor Kristin. I had previously only chatted with her on a couple occasions. One conversation consisted of a quick Howya duin by the dumpster (classy huh) & the other started with hey arent u my neighbor long into a night of drinking at my old Deptford watering hole, Nippers. I never really got a great look of her due to the bar lighting but she was really easy to talk to & had a smile that brightened up the room. It was closing time so after some quick small talk we left it at see ya around. My interest was peaked that night & now a week or so later she was approaching my car. She asked me if I was looking for my dog & with a big smile I said yup. She told me that when she came home she noticed a dog on her lawn. The dog had tags on her so Kristin called her over. Surprisingly Foxy came running over to her & allowed Kristin to pick her up. She saw the address, called the number & left me a message. Later in our relationship, she would tell me that she was excited it was me & had no idea that I had a dog (she had her eyes on me, lol) but wasnt sure if I still had that girl living with me. I was excited too. I asked her if she would walk with me to find Foxy & she said yes. I parked my Firebird got out the car & was finally going to get a close up look and have a real conversation with the girl next door... oh and look for that dog too. LOL
