FQ: Hello, Im 19 weeks pregnant and had my second trimester blood work done which came back with a low estriol level. Im told this may cause the baby to have a skin condition or a birth defect. My doctor would like to do an amino to get more accurate results. I am concerned for a few reasons. The obvious of a miscarriage with an amino which is extremely low but still can happen. And the final results, what if something is wrong with my baby. I researched online and the little information I found from moms going through this said its not huge deal and usually comes back normal and the anxiety of the two months of testing isnt worth doing it. They end up regretting it all. But that was just one forum and Id like to hear from more moms. I have a few days to make my decision. Whether youve had an amino and the results or if you are or have been in my situation, I would love to hear your input. What would you do and or have you done it? Any input is helpful.
