FQ: My husband and I have a 1 year old daughter and he has 2 sons that live with us from a previous marriage. I am expecting my second child in December. We went to the doctor this week for our 18 week checkup and ultrasound and found out from the harmony test we had a few weeks ago, that we have a high chance of having a Down syndrome baby. The next day we met with a maternal fetal specialist for a level 2 ultrasound. The doctor did not see any markers that would make him think DS, but because of the harmony test he is still saying DS. Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you have an amniocentesis done? No matter what the outcome, we are going to raise this baby in a loving family and provide them with what it needs. I guess I just need to know so I can truly prepare myself and not worry for the next 22 weeks. I worry about caring for a special needs child and also for the other children in my home and being able up give them enough time once the baby arrives. Any advice or experiences you can provide would be appreciated.~13
