FRACK RIG FIRE Occurred: Monday, March 17, 2014 Reeves County, TEXAS A frack rig in Reeves County, Texas caught fire early this morning. It happened 24 miles North of Pecos on Highway 285. Flames could be seen shooting into the air from the frack rig. Eyewitnesses say the frack rig belongs to Cimarex Energy, they say they were running casing when H2S monitors began to go off and workers were told to evacuate the area. We’re told moments later, the rig exploded into flames. The frack rig appears to be a total loss.
