FRC Kickoff was GREAT! The competition is: RECYCLE RUSH The game is very different this year. No battle of “3 teams vs 3 teams”, no bumpers, no win/loose scoring during the qualifying matches (only in final matches), no beginning size limit (see R3 below). We dont need a Battle hardened robot this year. It’s all about strategy and efficiency! And above all (according to the other mentors) there will be “NO PNEUMATICS!” this year. (Inside joke, I think?) We had a good preliminary brainstorming discussion with lots of ideas and possible issues that we would have to overcome with each. Most everyone left by 3:00. CJ and I ended up staying till about 9:00 (watched the video again then got into an idea and spent several hours beating it to death). Awe, the excitement of a new season and new challenge. I have been in sleep deprivation training for the past two weeks and welcome the early AM hours with open arms! Want to learn more about this year’s competition? B. the ROBOT must be able to be arranged into a TRANSPORT CONFIGURATION with dimensions which do not exceed 28 in. wide, 42 in. long, and 78 in. tall.
