FREE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING! This course is geared toward Law Enforcement personnel, but fire fighters are encouraged to attend. Law Enforcement Role at Fire Scene, Fire Investigations, and Fire Death Investigation Law enforcement is usually the first to arrive at fire scenes, requiring them to make split second life and death decisions that can affect the lives of trapped victims and themselves as rescuers. Law enforcement officers need to be aware of the dangers present at a fire scene to keep all parties safe and what their role is during the fire investigation. Arson is always in the top four leading causes of fire in the State of Minnesota. Effective investigations need to be done to assist with prosecution of these cases. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The officer will be able to describe the role and responsibilities of the law enforcement officer, fire fighter, and Deputy State Fire Marshal - Investigator at a fire scene. The officer will be able to describe their responsibilities at the fire scene and during the fire investigation. The officer will be able to describe the hazards associated with fire scenes.
