FREE Songwriting workshop TONIGHT - This is open to all ages - Ryan Jones leads a Free Song-Writing Workshop – Monday 28 July 19.30 - Live Wire, Saltash Ryan Jones leads a free song-writing workshop as part of the Save the Orphanage project on Monday 28 July 19.30 at Livewire Youth Project, Brooke Close, The Waterside, Saltash PL12 4EN. Bring your lyrics, tunes, ideas, voice, instruments – no booking necessary – just turn up - all welcome The Save the Orphanage project aims to provide opportunities for three emerging talented singer-songwriters based in Cornwall to take their skills to the next level. They will have the opportunity to work and perform with a session band comprising some of the best professional musicians in Cornwall. Previously working in isolation the musicians will be fronting a band performing their songs at venues across Cornwall culminating in a main stage performance at Looe Music Festival. Following the live shows the artists and band will go into a studio and record an EP. The final show will be filmed and together with the EP will enable the artists to promote themselves to record companies, festivals, tour promoters, etc. and take their careers to a professional level. In order to identify the emerging artists and to encourage writers/performers to collaborate Save the Orphanage will organise song-writing workshops in East, West, North and Mid Cornwall in July/August 2014 and make an open call for song submissions.
