FREEDOM IN THE SPIRIT LIFE (PART THREE) Romans 8: 18-30 (NKJV) 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. It is not always easy to walk in the Spirit of God... not only do we receive persecution from the world, but some suffer persecution, even rejection from family, perhaps friends, loved ones even, for their spiritual walk they have found in Christ Jesus.. not to mention the religious and judgmental pharisees and sauces of our time. But when you have found life, what else is there? And of course we want to share that life... this persecution may effect our business and place in the marketplace as well, because our hearts our now moved differently in that we must adhere to the Holy Spirit as to what is pure and right in leading others to the same Light we have now found. there just is no room for compromise, but there is a place to shift the atmosphere Heavenward wherever we go. But whatever challenges this may bring in this temporary existence in comparison to eternity to our eternal dwelling in the Glory of God as members of the Royal House and Family of God. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Yes, all creation trembles and what will shake, will shake, until the revealing... those that will stand will stand... those who are destined to reign as kings in the House of God, only by the Grace of God, this by the work of the Love so amazingly poured out by the work of the cross, and poured into true believers in the hearts of those seeking after the One true Living God and the Kingdom of Heaven. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; As sin entered into the world because of the fall of the original Adam, mankind in general, lost our original vision for our creation of original beauty, glory. 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. And so God stepped into our dilemma to restore us unto Himself, by sending His only Son, to be the new Adam... to tear the veil between heaven and earth and be the Bridegroom to lead the Bride, the church, the group of true believers, the children of God... and He sent His Holy Spirit to dwell within them as a mentor and compass to guide our hearts on our spiritual journey to walk about the earth, learning to know and be known by God... to walk about as eagles, learning to fly over the mountains of life, the storm clouds of this age, in freedom from the old carnal nature, but also from religion and legalism... learning not only to walk under love, grace and mercy, but also to show love, grace and mercy toward others. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. It is no small thing that we see, even today, man walking here, there, and everywhere in-between, in there walk with God. And yet, He is one. Our struggle as a creation to understand the concept of surrender, to take up our own cross, die to self, surrender our old carnal lifesource and take up the lifesource of Christ to live and reign within us has been with us since the beginning. What conflict has not occurred to this day because of the wars not only between men, but within man himself, to find true peace, and not have want within himself, to be One with his Creator... and so we see believers try to master the waters below... and are blown to and fro by ever wind of doctrine that touches their sails... and the days cry out for Christ all the while, that God might save us from ourselves. And yet, there are those who understand the earlier covenant, the older covenant, before the fall, before the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God places our lives in the hands of our Bridegroom, places us in the care of His Son, in a spotless, wrinkled-free wedding gown, only by Grace of the Blood of Christ... to be mint heirs with Jesus... that Father God might have fellowship with us again in the garden. yes the wedding feast will come... but until that time, yes, the earth does tremble and shake. And what is written in scripture of end-time prophecies, will be fulfilled. But we take heart. We are not in fear. For what can man do to us, but send us directly into the arms of our eternal love? And so we are about the Fathers business, in the harvest fields... in our deep, intimate relationship, bearing fruit from our spiritual wombs to Christ, to Daddy God, to the Kingdom of Heaven... and all the Heavenly Host rejoices. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. It is no small thing to understand fully, just how underling we really are. It is no small thing to step into the Spirit, and go to the foot of the cross, and look upon Jesus, and fully grasp the height, depth, width and length of the Love of God as seen in Christ Jesus on the cross, publicly display before God and man, Heaven and earth... with all the passion and desire for us laid in full view. And yet, we still struggle with the mind and heart, to be made more like the One we look upon at the cross, and weep over with violence. We bask in the Glory of God to be transformed, we seek the very face of God to be made like Him, so as not to re-defile our Lover, as we are so very blessed in such a way to receive such amazing grace. it is truly overwhelming. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? Yes, hope was found in Christ on the cross, it is true, and the tomb also found empty... but our true hope is this... Christ i us, the hope of glory. Our emptied temple within filled with the life source of Christ... a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit... The Spirit lighting the menorah of our hearts, our very soul, with Holy Fire... this is our hope by faith. 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. And is there not another hope we wait for? Yes there is a second coming. For some, in our resurrected bodies raised from our graves on the new Heaven on earth, for some perhaps, still in their earth suits. And yet, we know that he comes, just as He promised. As the hearts of man grow darker, it is true, the Light of the Glory of God grows brighter. This is our time, to seek the face of God like never before. He is here! He is here! He is here! 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. We must understand and activate this highly accurate spiritual weapon... tongues... it is a gift like no other... we release a prayer that is literally transposed, translated, filled in, by the Holy Spirit, sent directly to the throne of God... the very all-knowing, all-powerful Holy Spirit, is interceding on our behalf... with wisdom and knowledge far above and beyond anything we could ever comprehend. This is why this gift is so very powerful so very important to have in our weaponry belt among our armor. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. The Holy Spirit may never reveal some of what He prays on our behalf. He may never reveal to us any of it at all. It may be too much for us... He may even need to deal with our hearts, our attitudes... the point is, He is precise. You cannot pray in tongues and pray amiss. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Our spiritual journey is not all glamorous... but it is a great adventure... there are moments of Glory that will mark us the rest of our lives, that make it all worth it... when we stand face to face with the Lord... when were basking in His Glorious presence, and we feel ourselves being transformed more and more into His likeness... even in the moments of setback, when we learn of the weakness in our armor, when we find the openings in the mesh underneath, from within... but it is all worth it, to hit that potters wheel, to have Christ formed in us... hey, whatever that takes, whatever the cost... He is the prize. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. This is it, right there... this is the prize of the surrendered life... this is the treasure of the crucified life in Christ, dead and buried, resurrected in Him... taking up His lifesource living within us... that we might share in His inheritance, to be seated with Christ, as kings, at the right hand of the Father in Heaven... to be part of the Elohim, the Royal Family of God... 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. Justified by the Blood of the Lamb, glorified as joint-heirs, the life of Jesus in us... we stand and walk in His glory for all eternity... because of what he did. And did He not even show us, the heart of a King such as Himself, such a love... to surrender Himself, His own life, in that He took upon Himself such a horrendous journey of death... and even then still, showed how to walk a journey with a heart of a servant, with towel and basin in hand. Yes, He modeled the Kingship of Heaven to us. He poured Himself out on our behalf, to show us how to live the life of a King of Heaven. Will we not do the same even now, for others... as our spirits have already ascended. -Todd L Thomas, excerpt from the Book Higher Waters available late 2014
